HNB Assurance PLC’s annual report for the year 2022 secured the Silver Award in the Life Insurance Sector category at the prestigious South Asian Federation of Accountants (SAFA) Awards. The win further bolsters the company's stellar record, building on previous recognitions, including the Silver Award at the TAGS Awards and the ‘Best of Sri Lanka’ Award at the ARC Awards, all featuring the celebrated 2022 Annual Report.

The SAFA Awards, organized by the South Asian Federation of Accountants is recognized as the most prestigious accolade for financial reporting in the South Asian region. For over two decades, these awards have played a crucial role in promoting excellence and effective communication in the presentation of high-quality, relevant, reliable and objective financial and non-financial information. 

Speaking about this recognition Mr. Lasitha Wimalaratne, CEO of HNB Assurance, stated “This award serves as a true testament to our commitment to integrated reporting excellence. HNB Assurance PLC, was awarded the "Best Life Insurance Company - Sri Lanka" title at the 4th Emerging Asia Insurance Awards 2023 organized by the Indian Chamber of Commerce (ICC). This marks the second consecutive year that HNB Assurance has secured a recognition from the ICC, underlining the company's consistency in providing top-notch life insurance services. Chairperson of HNB Assurance PLC, Mrs. Rose Cooray expressed her delight in HNB Assurance's consecutive recognition as the "Best Life Insurance Company - Sri Lanka. She stated, "To close out the year with such an exceptional award is truly remarkable.

HNB Assurance (HNBA) and HNB General Insurance (HNBGI) showcased their exceptional sporting prowess by securing the runners-up position at the Division Two Mercantile Football League 2023. The stellar performance throughout the tournament not only solidified their position as formidable competitors but also propelled them into a well-deserved promotion to Division One for the upcoming season.

The HNBA and HNBGI team's journey to the final was nothing short of extraordinary, marked by an unbeaten streak that set the stage for a thrilling championship clash. The final match, which ended with a narrow marginencapsulated the conclusion of their remarkable season.

During the group stages, Team HNBA and were the highest goal-scorers, notching an impressive 10 goals in three matches. M. Nitharshan, a standout player from the HNBA and HNBGI team, further embellished the team's achievements by representing Sri Lanka in the recently concluded FIFA World Cup qualifiers. 

Looking ahead, HNBA and HNBGI gear up for the challenges of division one in the upcoming season, where the organizations eagerly anticipate continued triumphs on the football field.
