Mo/Ranjan Wijerathna Maha Vidyalaya is located near the Pelwatta Sugar Factory, 10km away from the Township of Buttala. There are more than 800 students and 48 teachers in this school and they have classes up to grade 13. Currently the water supply to the school is facilitated by the Pelwatta Sugar Factory due to the scarcity of easily accessible clean drinking water. The School was provided with a RO filter and a tank.
